Amos Nachoum

Amos Nachoum is a wildlife photographer and pioneer in the field of photographing large animals. His photographs of polar bears, orcas, leopard seals and others have helped to raise international awareness of the current threat to t0hese species. Beginning his career as a war photographer in Israel, Amos decided to shift his focus 40 years ago to the beauty of the natural world. His photographs and essays have appeared everywhere from National Geographic and Time Magazine to Life and The New York Times and his work has been included in the books The Living Ocean, The World of Nature and Oceans. He has won many awards including Nikon and BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards; and most recently in 2021, he was awarded the grand prize as the World Nature Photographer of the Year. The critically acclaimed movie, Picture of His Life, chronicles Amos’ career.
